General Instruction

Processed Foods

Any processed food should be avoided at any cost.
Prepare your own food using all natural fresh ingredients.

Food Additives

Read ingredients carefully and Avoid any of the followings as much as possible.
Food coloring, preservatives, modified starch, dough conditioner

Artificial Flavors & Seasonings

Artificial flavors & seasoning including MSG should be avoided as much as possible.

Dairy Products

All dairy products should be avoided if possible.
milk, cream, butter, sour cream, cheese, ice cream, eggs....consult the herbalist

None of the followings

Avoid refined sugar (or artificial sweetners) in any form (cookies, candies, soda pops, etc.), chocolate, nuts and seeds of any kind, brown rice, vitamins

Cooking Method

May:

Low temperature - Non dry heat cooking
Steam, saute, stir fry, boil and poach

Avoid

High temperature - Dry heat cooking
Deep fry, broil, outdoor grilling, microwave

Food You May have or Avoid

Seafood

May:

Live or fresh fish (preferrably not frozen) White fleshed fish only, perch, rock cod, halibut, cod, trout, red snapper and etc.

Avoid:

Crab, shrimp, lobster, oyster, scallops, salmon, tuna, catfish and any other shellfish

Meat

May:

Fresh pork and free range chicken in moderate amount

Avoid:

Lamb, veal, wild game, liver or other organ type meat, turkey, duck, quail and squab

Vegetables

May:

Celery, summer squash, peas, sweet potatoes, beet, carrots, potatoes, zucchini, bean sprout, winter melon, fuzzy melon, watercress, water chesnut, mustard green, nappa cabbage, bok choy, choy sum, green beans

Moderately:

Mushrooms, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, turnips, radish, parsnips, daikon radish, cucumber, green peppers, spinach, dried green beans, black eye peas, Chinese red beans, lotus seeds,

Avoid:

Chard, rhubarb, eggplant, winter squash (Danish or hubbard), asparagus, sauerkraut, artichokes, brussel sprouts, lima beans, lentils and dry beans, okra, bamboo shoots

Fruits

May:

Apples, oranges, figs, prunes, apricot, papaya, grapes, pears,

Ocassionally:

Banana, citrus fruits, cherries, strawberry, melons (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon), peaches

Avoid:

Guava, mango, coconut, pineapple, durian

Liquids

May:

Green tea (Jasmine, Tea Kwoon Yum), reg. Lipton tea, Rose brand tea, purified water
Freshly squeezed juice made with allowed veg. or fruits

Moderately:

Coffee 1 - 2 cups a day (plain coffee with very little or no sugar), canned or bottled fruit juice (if 100% natural)

Avoid:

Alchohol, soy milk, cold iced drinks, energy drinks, soda pops, especially diet drinks.
