Open the package and put the entire content
into stainless pot.
The Pot should be at least 7.5 inches high
and 9 inches in diameter. Do not
use the pot that is too wide in diameter (Water
evaporate so quickly before the cooking is complete).
Pour enough water into the pot (Filtered water for
the best result) to cover the herbs by about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. It takes about 3/4 gallons to one gallon of water, depending on the size of the package.
Bring it to a boil and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes with the lid on. Stir every 5 minutes or so during boiling.
Then turn it down to medium to medium low heat.
it down to medium to medium low heat.
With the lid on, cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours total until
remaining liquid is down to 2 cups (16oz) It should be soft-boiling at medium or medium-low heat. Make
sure to stir the herbs every 30 minutes or so to
ensure even cooking. After 1 1/2 hours of cooking,
it is very critical to check the amount of liquid
as often as possible so as not to burn the herbs.
When ready, pour the liquid into a smaller pot. If it is
more than 2 cups just by 3 or 4 oz, just cook a
little longer in the small pot. However, if you
get more than 3 or 4 cups, pour it back into the
original pot and cook it down to 2 cups.
Strain the liquid into glass jar or bottle using
a funnel and a fine mesh strainer.
You may cook the herbs second time the same
way if instructed by the herbalist.
Drink 1 cup of the herbal tea, while it is warm,
2 hours after the last meal of the day. Drink the
second cup of the herbal tea next day, however;
you may be instructed to drink 2 cups a day depending
on your conditions. Ask the herbalist how often
you need to drink the herbal tea.
Herbal residue might collect at the bottom of
the cup. It is not necessary to drink the residue.
